Robin Hood Obama & His Merry Band of Thieves

Healthcare Bill Is No Gift!

Blackmail called "Compromise" in Washington, D.C.

What part of "No" doesn’t Washington understand regarding this Healthcare Bill? Statistics prove the majority of U.S. Citizens don't like it, don't need it and don't want it but Robin Hood Obama and his Band of Merry Blackmailers are going to pass it and the U.S. citizenry be damned.

As I watched "Face the Nation" this morning, discussing the soon-to-be-law Healthcare bill, I was amazed to see the faces of Bob Shieffer’s guests turning green. Common sense tells me my television is on it’s last leg but electronics aside the color is rather appropriate for Ms. Lincoln of Louisiana and fellow blackmailing colleagues. Her high and lofty ideals turned to mush once she got a 300 million dollar increase for Medicaid in Louisiana.

Obviously, according to the press and our legal system, one can’t blackmail David Letterman (or any other U.S. Citizen) but it’s perfectly all right to blackmail the U.S. Government if you’re an elected official with a vote for sale. And to buy that vote Harry Reid has paid the ransom and calls it legal!

The same analogy will apply to Mr. Nelson of Nebraska. His lofty stand on abortion weakened considerably once his blackmail scheme worked. He carved out a deal for a single state; a permanent exemption from the state share of Medicaid expansion for Nebraska, meaning federal taxpayers (that’s you and me) have to kick in an additional $45 million in the first decade to pay for Nebraska’s part.

Sen. Sanders and Sen. Patrick Leahy (Vermont) made sure Vermont and Massachusetts got their "pay me first" perks as they were given additional Medicaid funding and Pennsylvania, New York and Florida all won protections for their Medicare Advantage beneficiaries while the program is facing cuts nationally (for everyone else).

Sen. Sanders (Vermont) also held out long enough to obtain a credit for $10 billion in new funding for community health centers and clearly became more enthused about a bill he said he couldn’t support just a few days ago. Looks like those folks in Vermont are going to be healthier than the rest of us as they’ve got a guy pitching for a state and not a country.

Mr. Nelson (Nebraska) and Mr. Levin (Michigan) carved out an exemption for non-profit insurers in their states from a huge excise tax -- similar insurers in the other 48 states (again, that’s you and me) will pay the tax.

It appears the deal in Washington now is "how much is my vote worth?" Majority Leader Harry Reid apparently thinks blackmail is just fine and dandy as he argued that, by definition, legislating means deal making and defended the special treatment for certain states. His exact words were: "You’ll find a number of states that are treated differently than other states. That’s what legislating is all about. It’s compromise." Wonder just how far the definition of "compromise" extends?

No, Mr. Reid, that’s not compromise or legislating; that’s blackmail, pure and simple, to get a publicly unpopular bill on YOUR president’s desk by Christmas -- as he ordered you to do. It’s blackmail when you openly pay off some "for sale" senators willing to sell out most of these United States for the benefit of a few States. One can’t help but wonder what YOUR real payoff will be for putting this "present" under Obama’s Christmas tree? What sort of "compromise" will be under your Christmas tree in return with a tag that reads "Thanks, from your grateful president"?

Robin Hood Obama apparently approves of this whole blackmail mess as he referred to it as just the cost of doing business in Washington!

"As with any legislation, compromise is part of the process, but I’m pleased that recently added amendments have made this landmark bill even stronger," said the president. Exactly which "compromise" are you referring to, Robin Hood Obama?

The president and Congress tell us that our economic recovery hinges on "health care reform" and that they can achieve it. They also consider health care and health insurance a RIGHT -- never mind the Constitution or the price tag or what the majority of this country’s citizens want -- and believe "the rich" should bear the costs.

Our doctors (65 percent - Investor’s Business Daily) resent further government supervision and control over their practice and 45 percent declare they will consider taking early retirement or leaving their practice when the bill goes through. Wow, a ton of new patients and not a doctor in sight!

Seems my television and I are similarly afflicted as my face is also turning green as Washington regurgitates the most disgusting mess this country has ever witnessed. If, however, "our" government doesn’t kill us all before voting day we can reciprocate. I, for one, plan to throw up on their very expensive shoes and then cuss them out for stinking up my United States!

Everyone with a "YES" vote on this ""healthcare"" """fix""" should have half their brain removed and the other half permanently attached to the word CORRUPT in the dictionary. God help us all!!

Amen to that and thanks for the comment! It's hard to believe we've got to pay for this mess for three years before anyone gets a benefit out of it -- except of course Louisiana and Nebraska and the other thugs who successfully blackmailed the powers that be in the U.S. Government!

Obama=Robin Hood & Thieves. So true.

And yes, Rob, I also agree with you. There is quite a bit of corruption in our country now thank to the president, and the people who follow him are just as corrupt as he is...or maybe just blind, but either way STUPID ( I am not being disresectful, I entrust everyone with their own opinion, but I really believe that people need to open up their eyes! ).

Angela~~ This health care bill has passed since you wrote this Hub, and it is just the beginning of large government! Corruption is abundant with this administration and hopefully they will be out office come 2012. Great Hub!
